This week’s Spoonflower fabric design contest is about rhinos. We must raise awareness of the brutal poaching of these animals for their horns which many Asians purport to have medicinal qualities. 496 rhinos have been killed so far this year. Last year the number exceeded 1000. Educating the end user will help reduce the demand for the horns, coupled with stiffer penalties for the poachers and middle men which may deter them from perpetrating such awful acts.
